Where did I temporarily store the side skins after I removed them from their storage spot? Why on the fuselage of course as seen in the first picture. It was my first look at the fuselage with skins. I even had the panel area clecoed together. It looked terrific. I then made a short table out of the fuselage kit shipping container. Although it is made of thin plywood it has a very strong inner structure. I added the 2 x 4’s with doublers on the inside and it is a remarkable strong and stable platform. I determined the height by making the top of the side skin come up to a comfortable position below my arm pit so that I could reach in to buck rivets all the way to the floor. It is an excellent height and worked out great. The last picture shows work on the short lower longeron sections. They needed to have some cuts made to them as well and some match drilling for the milled aluminum piece shown in the last two pictures. |
