I showed my first encounter with the sealant in the elevator build log. I used the 30 minute pot life material and found it easy to work with but I did get a little rushed.

For the tanks, I used the two hour pot life material. Van’s says you will need more than one quart of the material for the 14. The material also has a short shelf life so you don’t order it until you are ready to build the tanks. I got two nice fresh quart cans of the material and was ready to start using it.

It is a two part, polysulfide material. You mix it 10 parts to one by weight. I went to a local store that sells all kinds of odds and ends and bought a bunch of 90 ml mixing cups and 60 ml syringes. I have a nice little 7 kilogram scale and used all of that to mix up small batches as needed.
