So the question at the end of part 1 was, “where’s my table?” The answer was, still at the hanger. All 12 feet of it. When I built the Sonex I enjoyed having the long table but I could easily have gotten by with a shorter table. Van’s even suggests a 3’ x 6’ table. I decided that I could break my 12 footer into an eight footer and a four footer, leaving the four footer at the hanger. There was a problem however. The table top and bottom break that way nicely but the two table share a leg at the split. So I slightly reengineered the table so that the common legs each took one of the the two sistered 2x4’s as a leg. I marked up all the pieces before disassembly and the new four foot table stands alone at the hanger.
